Monday Movie Meme

Feature Presentation...
MONDAY MOVIE MEME

hosted by Molly and Andy of the Bumbles Blog.

This week's movie topic is all about Popular Movies You Hated...
Ever had that movie everyone gushed about and you were like, WTF?

1. Titanic (1997): Just thought it was overly sappy and just drivel.

2. Citizen Kane (1941): Since it was AMI's number one pick thought I'd give it a glance...not sure what all the hub-bub was.

3. The Graduate (1967): Hated this movie. The ending made me hate it more...icky.

4. American Graffiti (1973): Boring and pointless.

5. Sabrina (1954): Don't like the Bogart for one thing and I thought this movie was overly sexist. Couldn't get past the culinary school...

6. Casablanca (1942): Another Bogart movie and I just thought it was utterly pointless.

  1. LOL, I totally agree with you on almost all of them (I never saw American Graffiti or Casablanca). I actually loved Sabrina, but I'm a huge Audrey fan and love just about everything she is in. I thought Titanic was SO overrated, the only cool thing about it was seeing the ship & the special effects were pretty good. The love story and acting were awful! The Graduate is so disgusting, and totally disturbing!

  2. The Graduate and Citizen Kane weren't favorites of mine. I'm not sure to go so far as to say I didn't like them--just that I thought they were so-so.

  3. I agree on titatanic. I haven't seen that version of Sabrina but I loved the one Harrison Ford starred in. It is one of my favorite movies.

  4. I also thought The Graduate and Citizen Kane so-so, but loved the other four on your list. Thanks for visiting!

  5. You are too funny! Tell us what you really feel ;0)

I actually enjoyed all of those movies except I haven't seen Sabrina. Tons of the classics were sexist though since it mirrored the world at the time - so I find it interesting to see how far we've come.

  6. I've actually seen all of these! The one that I'd most agree with you on is Citizen Kane, but a film school friend of mine tells me it was because so many first time film making tools were used for the first time in this film. Didn't make me like it any more, but I'm not a film historian :)
I did enjoy American Graffiti. Thought it was fun representation of the time. And I loved finding all the stars that were in it :)

  7. I'm with you on Titanic--brilliant costumes, cinematography, and setting; horrible story--horrible, horrible story.

But I do really like all of the other movies.

  8. Citizen Kane is certainly not one of my favorite movies. Rosebud? Please.

Also, I've given you an award!

  9. I thought Titanic was okay, and Casablanca is one of my favorites, but I agree with you on all the others. Citizen Kane is probably the most overrated movie of all.
