This week is all about those movies with books and bookish themes...so not necessarily book-to-movie adaptations.
The Jane Austen Book Club (2007): While this is a book too, the movie is all about Jane Austen's books and how they affect this little book club that reads them.
Beauty and the Beast (1991): Belle is a total bookworm! Her nose is always stuck in a book!
Dan In Real Life (2007): Dan meets the woman of his dreams in the local book store and ends up giving her a million suggestions to read. The woman ends up buying all of them!
Stranger Than Fiction (2006): Will Farrell becomes the main character in Emma Thompson's latest book...where she always kills them in the end. Can he convince her he's real and that he doesn't want to die?
Nice list! I have Stranger than Fiction on my list, too. I completely spaced on The Jane Austen Book Club, it's a perfect choice for this topic!
ReplyDeleteI forgot that in Dan in Real Life they met in a book store, too!
Fun topic, right?!
I've seen and liked all of these and not one came to mind when I made my list!! Great choices. I had forgotten about the Dan in Real Life meeting.
ReplyDeleteI only have watched Beauty and the Beast!! And I loved that one. I got to find more info on the other books on your list. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you picked Beauty and the Beast and I'm off to find that Jane Austen flick. Nice list. Kaye—the road goes ever ever on
ReplyDeleteThat was a good bookstore scene in Dan in Real Life. It looked like a real bookstore.
ReplyDeleteWe have some films in common this week.
Omygoodness, I was tortured with Beauty and The Beast too! How could I forget that?? Mine is at http://www.nessasplace.com/2011/03/monday-movie-meme-books-in-movies.html
ReplyDeleteLove Stranger Than Fiction and Beauty and the Beast! I really want a library like the one the Beast gave to Belle...
